Considering jumping to Dodge
My 2012 ECO is starting to have some things go wrong, nothing big but at 55k shouldn't be IMHO. The new 2016 is the same as far as drivetrain and power
Not a big enough jump....
Considering the 2500 Ram with not sure on what motor? Tell me why I shouldn't go Dodge....

Those 2500 Cummins are pretty sweet trucks. I have a few farmer buddies and each of them have a few, the one who is a real close friend has one, his brother has one and his sister in law has one, all lifted, big tires.
they use them what they were meant to be used for though, they also drive from their ranch in Cal to their other ranch in Idaho at least a few times a month usually pulling loaded down enclosed 30" tailors with them.
They have no complaints what so ever.
That being said, If you're not going to use them for what they are meant for (Towing heavy/heavy work) it's kinda senseless $$$$
They actually just got some toys for his sister in law's, freaking sweeet!

Last Dodge I had (2007) in 15,000 miles I had to replace 2 wheel bearings and a tierod. All under warranty but still. And I could always feel a vibration thru the gas peddle that drove me nuts.

the 15-16 EB do feel like a different animal compared to the 12-13. Not like 100hp more type-thing, but you certainly feel that the truck went on a diet and the tranny smartened up.
Having said that, why should we care if you buy a Dodge?

Not understanding. 2500? Why not a 250 then? I fell for the Ram hype and tried a 1500. Absolute f'n junk. Tranny gearing sucked, hemi that was supposed to be so powerful had little low end power, cylinder shutdown crap was annoying as hell, center console rattled over bumps, interior finish wasn't as nice, etc. etc. Sold it after 18 mo. for a 6 year old f150. My trusty ole 5.4 is rated far less peak power but Ford actually knows what a truck's powerband and tranny gearing is supposed to be so it feels stronger. Not to mention my '09 is bigger, heavier and has an older tech motor but gets the same fuel mileage as the Ram did. Also, the Ram recommended using 89 octane. So I've had both and its Ford all the way. I'll never betray Ford again.

Speaking from experience, if your not hauling on a regular basis 250 Ford/2500 Ram or even that C word is a money pit. Fuel mileage is crap in a gas burner and you practically need an oil well in your back yard to keep up with the oil changes on a diesel. And don't even think about getting a 2wd, unless you like getting stuck on damp grass or the occasional edge of the driveway. But ultimately you need to suit yourself, some people just have to own that 3/4 ton once in their life to get it out the ole bloodstream. Whatever you decide have fun with it life is short. Merry Christmas!

I came the other way. I've had several dodges/Rams. 99. 2500, 05 1500, 11 1500, and recently a 14 2500. The transmission statement is true. Ram has never figured out how to tune a transmission. That was my favorite part of my f150. It shifts when it's supposed to. My 14 cummins was nothing but an electrical nightmare not to mention the several recalls. I had it for about 7 months and it literally had a trouble light on the dash the entire time I had it. I traded it with a cel on and took a bath with it. If you check out cummins forum there are lots of threads on the problems with the new trucks. Also, I had no need for the big truck and in my opinion a half ton is better in every way than a 2500/3500 other than towing/hauling. So if you don't need it, I would avoid it
