When you turn the power off to the relay, and it returns to "normal" operation, 50-55 degrees. I have the manual hvac. The blend door still works as normal, and the diverter for vent/floor/defrost all normal. The recirc/outside air control is also normal.

External temp sensor
Interesting, I wonder: does the external temp displayed on the display play any roll in the cooling system?
What about the sensor under the driver side panel that measures temp and humidity, sould this also be done there?
Need to figure out what is randomely telly the probe to cycle at different intervals!

Yes 1. Refer to the chart on previous post the 10k ohm is between 104-140 degrees. The hvac thinks the Evap core temp is high thus turning on the compressor, when the relay is off, it goes back to 50-55 degree oem sensor but the Evap core is temp is lower than 50 degrees so the hvac has the compressor off.

I've been following this thread for quite awhile now. Huge thanks to Big Dog and Digital Trucker, and everyone for contributing to a great write up. I finally got the courage to try this hack. So far, I've only installed the potentiometer and the +/- switch but I'm amazed how well this works. I honestly didn't think my AC was capable of freezing; good thing for the switch. Now that I've read and re-read all the posts, I'm going to try to install the relay so the system will cycle as it's intended. I just ordered the temp control board from eBay. I will update how it goes later.

Yep, this indicates to me that its more of a "programmed" setting in the HVAC system, rather than. low or overcharge or hardware malfunction.
Good luck and keep us posted!
