Default Northlight Labs Door Detent

Posted originally in the aftermarket parts thread but haven't gotten any bites. Just trying to find out if Northlight Labs is still in business? I ordered a set of door detents from them back in February and haven't heard anything from them since I got the automatic order confirmation email, and they haven't responded to a follow up email. Wondering if I just threw away some cash that I'll never see again.

Hmm, hopefully all is ok, i bought mine a couple of years ago, i think i contacted them first to make sure of the same thing.

Checked your spam? I don't recall if there was a phone number there or anything.

Well sure enough, yesterday I check my email and I have a shipping notification from Northlight (in regular inbox too, not the junk folder). No clue what caused the delay, perhaps they didn't have parts on hand and had to special order them; knowing that this model F-150 is several generations old now I wouldn't be surprised that it took longer to get parts.

I never could find a phone number for them, there wasn't one on their website or the order confirmation.

Either way, I'm looking forward to this particular upgrade--after 10 years of dealing with "barely ajar" and "all the way open" with the doors on this truck, I can finally open them in tight spots with some peace of mind. Just wish I did it sooner.

That's good news, for anyone else looking for this fantastic upgrade, too.

Yes, i imagine he's only doing parts to order now, there are still general shortages on many things, he gets brand new genuine Ford parts and modifies them, i couldn't even tell it wasn't factory when i looked at the extra detent.

I honestly can't even remember how bad the factory doors were as i found and got this mod fairly quickly, it's a must-have IMO and i forget the doors normally have horrendous detent control.

The website buy now doesnt work.
I also tried to email them and the email came back saying undeliverable. I know im super late to the party, but I would love to order it.

I sent you a message with an email address you can try to get in touch with the owner.

For what its worth, my capsule review of the detents is that theyre simply ok, I think the "just right" detent you get with these is still a little too far out for my liking. Others will probably disagree.

Yup, disagree, only slightly though These are coupé-length doors, the location of the added detent makes sense to me.

I dont think there should be anything wrong with sharing this news.

Here is the reply i got

Thanks for your interesting the DD 3.0 product.

We’ve had a real challenge sourcing new parts for machining due to supply chain issues and are shutting down the website very shortly.

Business has also dropped off significantly since our product only work on 09-14 trucks and the new F-Series door detent is a completely new (and expensive) part.

Thanks again and sorry.

That's sad news, i can't imagine mine without these, the factory detents are even more stupid than the removal of the driver's side grab handle.
