I'm thinking about removing my level and trading my 33x12.5 with monster xd's for stockers. When I take the level kit off, do I need to get an alignment again? I figure I do since I got one when I put it on, but just making sure.

May I ask why? MPG? I would recommend getting an alignment done. Did you have it realigned when you put the level on? If the answer is yes, you've answered you're own question.

I love the look of it, but my average MPG dropped from 17.5 to about 14.8, and could notice a drop in power, minutely. I know this could be fixed with a programmer, but don't feel like spending more money to fix a problem that could lead to more problems. Also, I've had the wheels and tires balanced twice and still have vibration in the truck, but that could be from just having toyo MT's. And yes, I had it aligned when I added the lift, and realize I answered my own question, just like being reassured on everything I do on my truck from the people on the forum haha.

I reassure you, you need to realign after altering the suspension, whether you go up or down.

It's cheap insurance for your front tires.

Have u considered just getting different tires? Try out an all-terrain tire. Mud-terrains will kill ur mileage, especially the toyos. They're on of the heaviest on the market. And yes, u should get an alignment if u return it to stock.

I figure if I switch to an all terrain, I might as well take off the level. I think the level actually hurt my mpg more than the tires by taking out the rake and throwing off aerodynamics

Why do u feel that of u go to an all terrain, u should take off the level. The level isn't what's killing ur mpg. It's all about the tire (diameter, width, tread pattern, and weight). Switch out those mud terrains for an all terrain tire. I think you'll be happier than returning everything to stock

Nope that is false. I have a level with stock tires. I still get exactly the same mileage as before. A level can't decrease mpg, take for example 2wd and 4x4 trucks. 2wd is lower with smaller tires yet the mpg ratings are not that much different.

It's your tires. Toyo MT's are very aggressive and heavy. Go to a 275/70/18. You get the height of just over 33" tall but maintain the stock width. Little to no loss in mpg. Look into a tire like nitto terra grappler or BFG rugged terrain.

I could dig through the tire figment guide all day, but what AT's do y'all run and size for a 2" level?

I remove the 2" level and did not have a realignment. I have 20K on the 275/55 I went to after the level and even wear all around. Mileage loss is almost all tire. Level is not going to take away from mileage that much.
