Cigarette Lighter/12V Power
Are the cigarette lighter and 12V power plug always active and putting out power even after you turn off the vehicle? Might be a dumb question but was just wondering is that when I turn off my 2009 F150 the devices that are plugged into them stay on even if I remove the key from ignition

They are on the 2010, I am in the process of trying to hook my amp and sub and I just put a test light on both of them to be sure. Anyone have any tips on a good place to tie in the amp turn on wire, so it will only be on when the key is turned on?

They turn off after about 15 mins in my truck. I've left my cell phone plugged in while sitting in the truck with it off, and after about 15 minutes all the ACC power turns off (just like the radio auto turns off after about 15 w/o engine running). If you open a door or start the truck, the ACC power comes back on.
I used to think that the ACC power always stayed on, because every time I'd open the truck door, I'd see the charging light on my phone charger. But after 15 minutes, the charging light goes off.
Not sure if that is a Platinum feature to save battery life because of all the little gizmos or what.
