Oil catch can - has anyone tried this one?
Saw these on Ebay. Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these units. Says "universal", which all it's really doing is catching oil, right? Can't bring myself to buy one of those $100 units if this will do.

Anything worth doing, is worth doing right! Buy a kit desinged for your vehicle!

I figured the hoses might be an issue, but I figured they could be replaced with one's that won't crush under vacuum.
I mean this is a bottle that simply collects oil. It has no complex moving parts.
It's $17 vs. $119 for a made for our truck JLT unit. Is JLT unit better? Probably, but is it $102 dollars better? Not likely.
Anyways just checking to see if anyone has used it.

Do you track your truck? Does your oil level drop a lot?
I run high powered track sports cars and that is where I have seen and used catch cans. The reason they are used there is because of the high speed turns these cars are capable of, as much as one gravity.
These types of turns throw the oil into the PCV valve and a lot of it gets sucked into the engine. But unless you are doing these types of activity with your truck it would be a waste of money. I certainly would not put one on my Ecoboost.
Just check your oil regularly after the truck has been sitting for a while. I check mine before I start it in the morning
If you are not seeing your oil level drop no catch can is needed.

It's more to keep the oil vapors out of the intake. The ls1's suck a decent amount under a WOT run and having seen the amount of oil coming out of some of these intercoolers on the eco's, I'd say its worth it.
