Default No Vehicle Health Report

I bought a 2009 Lariat Screw recently. After the purchase I found out that it was originally from Canada. I tried to do the vehicle health report (VHR), but the option wasn't available. I had the dealership upgrade the software, but the feature is still not there. The Sync manual says IS only. That leads me to believe that it will never happen with the installed Sync module.

So I would like to buy a Sync module and replace the one in use. I've seen plenty on eBay. Will a Sync module of any year from my gen truck work? Can I use a Sync module from other Ford models? Any advice or help is appreciated.

Hello, do you have the touch screen version of sync? Mine is a 2012 with basic sync, no touch screen. To run the vehicle report on mine, I have to have my phone synced and then I press the voice button on steering wheel and say "vehicle health report" The sync will then continue on its own

No expert on Sync module replacement, if you have a 09 then it "should" work from 09 -14 year model. Don't know why your so interested in running a vehicle health report for. But if it doesn't work I guess swapping out modules may fix it, don't know...

I have an 09 as well. It always says unable to send. I haven't really messed with it too much. What kind of info does it actually send?

I have the basic version. I thought it sent useful information. I will try doing the voice command though.

You are not really missing much not being able to run it.

I personally think you can get some useful information. My truck started illuminating the airbag light in the intrument cluster. It would come on one day and be off the next. I ran the health report on a day that the light was off and when I checked the report it did indicate and issue with the airbag system.

So just to clarify how mine runs, after pressing voice button and being prompted for a command, I say "vehicle health report" The truck begins running the report and after about a minute it will automatically dial my phone to a 1-800 number and then will hang up after a few seconds. I will then get a prompt on the screen saying report sent. You need to have your ford owner account setup online and have your phone number and email address registered.

You got an airbag light then you ran the report and it told you there's an issue with the airbag system? I would think the original light would indicate the problem and the VHR a waste of time. Just my view.

Just trying to give an example of info you can get. Someone questioned why the OP wants to run it but the point of the thread is that he wants to be able to do it. In my case, my wife is the daily driver so I can't always vouch for lights the truck is illuminating, it is handy for me in case something goes unnoticed to her.
