Ebay is the best. Got the CAI for $160 and the Hypertech Max Energy for $165. I wanted a custom tune but for $165, I'll suck it up for a year or so!!!

Did the 42003 work OK for you? I have a chance to buy one for my 2010 5.4, but the new number for Hypertech is 42501, or something like that. I'm having difficulty finding out if 42003 is completely compatible with my 2010, since most info seems to go only to 2009. Thanks.

I just picked up a 42003 for my 2010 screw 5.4 and It seems to have worked fine. I did have to update it online though.

Other than that It seems like pretty much the same thing. I know a lot of people are going to rag on hypertech and say buy something better but I picked it up for $150 on craigslist so I thought I'd give it a shot and it's just fine

I purchased a 42003 for my 2004 XLT Triton and it made the truck run terribly. I did the online update and it showed 2004 as the default but wanted me to update it to one of many years and models. This is what the option screen displayed...

Part Description: 2004-2010 Ford Lincoln Gas Truck/SUV

Select the vehicle platform this programmer will be programming:
2005-2008 4.2L F-150, 2004-2006 4.6 2V F-150, and 2004-2006 F-150/Mark LT 5.4L 3V
2005-2008 Expedition/Navigator 5.4L 3V
2005-2010 F-250/350 5.4L 3V
2007-2008 F-150 4.6L 2V/5.4L 3V/Mark LT 5.4L 3V
2009-2010 F-150 4.6L 2V/4.6L 3V/5.4L 3V and Expedition/Navigator 5.4L 3V

Of course I selected the "2004-2006 F-150/Mark LT 5.4L 3V
It updated the firmware to 73.51.70.27

This leads me to believe it's the same physical device for multiple engines, just a different software revision.
