Default Check Brake System Warning

I had a check brake system warning light pop up on my home driving on the highway. After it chimed three times, the brake warning light remained on the cluster. The brakes feel fine and the parking brake is not engaged.

I turned the truck off after I got off the highway, restarted, and the warning light disappeared.

Any thoughts on this? Truck is 2012 Lariat...thanks

I'll check it in the morning. I should add, it was at the dealer a couple of weeks ago for maintenance. Everything was ok, brake pads all at 8mm. I only drove it for 700km after it was at the dealer....

Easy fix. I did have to buy a special scan tooll but its an ABS code. One of your speed sensors failed. Super cheap to replace yourself and easy to to id too. My front left went out. My dash looked like christmass lights when I would turn my high beams on lol

It might be worth getting the truck in for a quick check-up at your dealer, johnt2_2002! Just to make sure everything is OK! Keep me in the loop once you do that and I may be able to assist if needed.

Just left the dealer for this issue, service writer said there was a code set on the computer and that a module has been ordered--something about a vacuum issue.

Service writer didn't know the code or exact part being ordered and it's not listed on the work order I got today--truck is going back when the part is in and I'll update...

Any idea what exactly is being replaced...

Did you ask the service advisor and/or tech'? What did s/he specifically say it was?

Very, very (if ever) is a part ordered by ... "Sent me that part that fixes the code (that I don't know what it is) that the customer's got".
.

Yes it was fixed. I believe the part was called a brake vacuum solenoid. It's a small part but its fixed, haven't had the warning since....
