Default Changed my brakes this weekend...

Bought my truck used and were in dire need of some new brakes. Had lots of squeaking and shuttering. I got such a good deal on the truck I'm not even upset. I put on AC Delco rotors and ceramic pads all around. GREAT CHOICE. Truck is super smooth and quiet. Stops on a dime even with my fully loaded trailer. I noticed a lot of people want other opinions on brakes since Motorcraft brakes are sub-par. So, here it is. Go with AC Delco and don't look back.

Here is what I got:

Rotors:
Amazon.com: ACDelco 18A2791 Professional Durastop Front Disc Brake Rotor: Automotive Amazon.com: ACDelco 18A2791 Professional Durastop Front Disc Brake Rotor: Automotive

Amazon.com: ACDelco 18A1627A Advantage Rear Disc Brake Rotor: Automotive Amazon.com: ACDelco 18A1627A Advantage Rear Disc Brake Rotor: Automotive

Pads:
Amazon.com: ACDelco 17D1414CH Professional Durastop Ceramic Front Disc Brake Pad Set: Automotive Amazon.com: ACDelco 17D1414CH Professional Durastop Ceramic Front Disc Brake Pad Set: Automotive

Amazon.com: ACDelco 14D1012CH Advantage Ceramic Rear Disc Brake Pad Set: Automotive Amazon.com: ACDelco 14D1012CH Advantage Ceramic Rear Disc Brake Pad Set: Automotive

Hope this helps some of you fellas out! GL

You did put the pads with humps on the inside and not on the outside right? Lots of people have gotten that part backwards including the dealer I bought my used truck from. One wheel was correct the other needed new pads and rotor after about 2k miles. You'll know because I imagine that side would have been hard to put on and you will start seeing a lot of brake dust forming on that rim.

Yes. We did notice that when we had the caliper apart.

I'm looking at doing my brakes soon on my 2013. How did you know your rotors needed to be replaced? Was there something noticeably wrong with them or did you have them measured?

I have 60K miles on my existing pads/rotors and am trying to decide if I need to replace just the pads or rotors too.

Thanks for the post, was a lot of help!

If your steering wheel shakes when braking then your rotors are warped and need to be turned. But due to the sub par quality of the Ford OEM rotors many people have opted to replace them with another brand instead of turning them.

Anything beyond the oem's and the one's from AutoZone are a step up.

Bad shimmy under braking. Since its a new to me truck, just felt good about starting with fresh brakes.

Thanks for the post, was a lot of help!
