CD player stutters a lot

I use my 150GB 2.5" Hard Drive and don't even think about cd's. I have used them however and I don't seem to have a problem with it.
Try another cd, one that is not burned. If that does not work, take it to the dealer and have them fix it.

How do you mean a 150 GB hard drive? I don't get it. Do you attach an external hard drive to the usb connector on the control panel? See, what I'm trying to do is listen to library audio tapes on cd. I like to listen to them when i drive. The problem I'm having now is sometimes the cd player on the '09 stutters, like it gets caught on a sound and keeps repeating it, like so-so-so-so-so-so-so, and then it finally breaks loose, only to get caught on another sound. A person on the other forum said auto cd's might be more sensitive and i should try wiping the disks and running a cleaner through the cd, even tho it's new.

Ya. I have some pictures in my albums. It is not as pretty as some others I have seen where they run it from the second USB port but it gets the job done. It just plugs in to the SYNC USB port.
If there is not a problem with the CD then I would say to take it back to ford and have them fix it. I have played MP3 CD's in the truck and I have had no problems at all. If it did that to me I would be back at the dealership getting it fixed ASAP.

I saw your photos, Sig. That's similar to what I've done, plugged in a usb flash drive. That worked good, too. Much more compact than your external hard drive.
I think that my problem might be with worn library cd's and maybe the ford cd player is just more sensitive to scratches on them than the cd players i was using before. I just don't know enough about cd players to know if that's normal or if I should bug the dealer about it.
