cb ant. mount
Years ago I used a magnetic base ant. on my then new 07 f150 [4000 mi]
coming back from a Reelfoot lake, up I 55, we ran into a very bad storm, a lot of cloud to ground lightning. My truck got hit at the cb ant., knocked it off the truck roof, put a dent in the roof of the truck, killed the cb radio, battery, alternator, dash cluster. Inside the truck it smelled like ozone. I got towed into the nearest Ford dealer, they did all the repairs which included a new cluster [they asked how many miles was on the truck because it had to be set at factory before they would send it to the dealer.] The Ark. dealer did all the work except fixing the roof dent, I had that done at home. Took 2 weeks before I got my truck back. We were traveling with folks in another vehicle, that's how we got home. To make my long story short, yes it was a fluke. But, NO more cb radios.
