I like the ruby. I find most people think its just red until you park next to a actual red car. Then the maroon comes out. Also comes in handy that my company color is maroon .

I had a Laser Red 94 Mustang and it's very close to Ruby Red.

I have noticed this with the candy also. It looks different colors in different light, anywhere from a bright red to almost a purple. People ask me from time to time what color my truck really is. I tell them Candy Apple Red.

The ruby red to me looks more maroon then red.
