Made sure you check the list that transport Canada put out for what you can import and register up here(from the usa) I know a few ppl that bought vehicles in the usa and brought them back and they are now sitting in the driveway because they cant be registered here

This is a guess so not claiming this is a fact. Could it be tariffs? I know the japs build their cars here, not because they want to give Americans jobs, because we jacked the tariffs up on importing COMPLETED goods that it became cheaper to build their vehicles here with IMPORTED parts than to pay the tarrif.

Is there a US Import tariff in Canada that is being applied?

Here is a great link with the various fees associated with importing to Canada a vehicle from the US. They add up FAST!

What was happening is that it is cheaper to buy a vehicle in the usa and bring it up here and still be alot cheaper then buying it up here. This was happening with boats, motorcycles, rv's everything.

lol. Thats why the Canadian lumber is heading to China now...
jonwill: funny!

No there is no tarrifs. IF you can get some one to sell you new in the US you can bring up but you loose your warranty. What ever.
