Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Same here and it to function correctly. I don't get why it will just lose Bluetooth.

With three different aux inputs, it would be great to be able to set the button to the one I want (bluetooth audio) and just press it when I get in the truck. Granted my voice command of "Bluetooth Audio" works 99% of the time but I would rather just push the button as I do when I want Sirius radio.

That would be better than the voice command!! It only works about 75% for me, unless I'm shouting at it.

Hell, I thought I had it fixed. Got rid of Sync altogether with an aftermarket solution from Pioneer, but all that did was make my truck a target for junkies to break into, so after the second break-in, I put the stock crap back in there and deal with Sync. (The junkies broke into the truck a third time for good measure, but found nothing to take that time, because, well, I leave nothing in the truck except a few fast-food napkins and a cell phone charger at this point.)

I deal with Hyundai's VR software daily at work, and Chrysler's almost daily. They work virtually flawlessly. Hell, I got the 2015 Dart I did a UCI on today to play "Bidibodi Bidibu" by Bubbles off my flash drive on the FIRST TRY using just voice commands. I can't get Sync to play it at ALL using voice commands!
Matt,
I think you need a new type of security system for your truck

Interestingly it works exactly the way we all want in my 2015 Expedition - granted XLT Expedition is probably more like a Platinum F150 package, but I notice the difference when I go back/ forth between rides.

Alarm works great, wakes me up just in time to scare them off before they get anything. I'm just tired of replacing windows.

Default Great News: Sync v4.6 is the answer

I recently (29 Aug 2016) applied Sync basic v4.6 update to my 2013 Ford Explorer basic. I found the update in another forum that someone uploaded to an ftp site.
Sync v4.6 fixed these items for me:
- Sync v4.6 always starts right where I left off. I always only use Bluetooth Audio, and every time I drive it defaults to Bluetooth Audio and starts where I last played a song (Pandora or Spotify).
- Sync 4.6 now shows Artist and Song title when playing from Pandora or Spotify (only apps I tried).
- Sync 4.6 now pronounces Bluetooth Audio properly
In my owner.ford.com account it now displays: v4.6 (before this upgrade Gen1 - V4.1.2.F)
Seems this update will show up soon for all and clear up so many annoying things. I only followed normal upgrade steps using a usb drive, nothing special and worked first time after applying/rebooting for about 15 minutes.

Nice. Thanks Gary. That's encouraging at least. I just checked www.syncmyride.com. Last update was March of 2015, so it's been a year and a half. Hopefully we will get it soon.

You lucky devil you.

I also have Sync v4.6 in my F150. Damned thing randomly decides to switch to FM radio about every 4-5 startups, hell, today the truck was started twice, and did it both times.

That said, 4.6 fixed anything that was wrong with Pandora. The Pandora integration with Sync is the ONE thing that works PERFECTLY for me. It's hilarious that "Play Artist: Turnpike Troubadours" is a mystery to Sync in USB mode, but "Play Station: Turnpike Troubadours Radio" is no problem whatsofreakingever for Pandora and Sync.

How about a link to the ftp or other forum?
