Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio
Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?

I don't have a problem with what it defaults to -- I usually leave it on Satellite radio or USB. Rarely use Bluetooth audio.
However, I have a problem that it won't pair with my new-to-me phone. Through work, I got a hand me down Samsung Note Edge. It paired with my Galaxy S4 and wives iPhone 6 just fine, but won't pair with the Note Edge.
I get it to pair and type in the number on the truck screen. It will show paired with audio, but not the phone. I can go to the phone options and click the slider to pair with the phone audio. It turns on for a second, then turns off.
If anyone has any tricks to get it to pair, please let me know. I updated the Sync version with a USB stick about a year ago. The phone is Android 6.0.1

Did you delete the old devices from the vehicle before pairing the new one? I also suggest performing a master reset on the vehicle and try connecting the phone again. If you need the reset steps, please let me know which SYNC system you have: owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-technology/all/get-started-with-sync/how-to-identify-your-sync-version.html?model

Then you're gonna have a problem with what it defaults to. It does the same thing with USB (which I primarily use) that it does with Bluetooth, randomly defaults to FM or AM radio on startup.

I have a few glorious days from time to time where Sync's mood processor decides it wants to reconnect to bluetooth automatically. I wish there was a way to remove Sync's mood system.
I think ford should give the source code to an introduction to programming 101 class, they should be able to iron these issues out.

So, Sync still styncs and there's no updates.
Thanks Ford!
My Sync system has developed a new issue: I get random 1/4 second dropouts of audio. Thought it was my phone, but I've been through three (Galaxy Note 4, Droid Turbo 2, Galaxy Note 7) and it's there with all 3! No phone has the issue with any other BT playback device (speakers, headphones, other cars). So it's definitely Sync. I'm getting tired of pulling the fuse. Does anybody know if there's a dummy fuse that you can put in there that gives you two terminals? I'd like to wire in a momentary switch and mount it on my dash. When Sync decides to act up, I'll just cut her power and reboot her.
Thanks Ford!

Odd....I've owned 3 phones and an Android tablet; none of mine have had the issue.
With that said, when stuff happens, I don't even bother with the fuse anymore. I just pull the (-) battery terminal. LOL

What wonderful fun Sync is!
4.6 has decided that it too can play the "let's randomly freeze up your ****" game!
Only, it does it BETTER! Twice during the same song, or it'll hang up your phone call, reboot, and then prompt you to redial (isn't that sweet?).
I really wish there was a way I could plug a monitor into Sync just so I could see the blue screen of death for that full-on Windows experience!
