cam phasers and warrenty?
After looking over the warranty, it says that any internal engine parts that is oil lubricated is covered by the 5yr/60,000 warranty. I assume that'd cover the cam phasers since they're oil fed?
4.6l 3v is ticking like a sewing machine when warn and we're at 35,600 miles, might not be able to get it to the dealer before the 36k is up.

i used to have a 1990 ford ranger with the 4.0 L motor and it ticked for over 100,000 miles until the intake manifold gasket went out and all the water leaked out and i drove it to far and cracked the block. I think mine only ticked when cold and stopped when it was warm though. been a few years, i forget.

From searching on here I'm pretty sure it's the cam phasers.
No clues on if it is covered beyond the b-t-b warranty?

Got 8500 miles on my 4.6 V3. It has ticked between 800 and 1500 RPM since I got it.
Never have taken it in...seems that no one really knows what it is or if it gets fixed by the dealer.
May just take it in so there is a record of my issue. Anyone ever have it fixed by a dealer and the ticking goes away...?

mine tick like mad on my 4.6 3v, and mine has less than 6k on it
only does it if I get on the gas a little harder than normal when at a low RPM
as long as they don't get horribly worse, I'm going to deal with it. if they last until the warranty is up, then I plan on installing some FRPP Hot Rod Cams, and I'll be installing the cam phasor lock-outs at the same time

However we just bought this f150 recently and the sewing machine noise is pretty annoying.

Dealers dont know dick but anyways I have always run Shell or BP gas in my 05 FX4 and always use the best. 93 octane is the way to go. You only spend a dollar extra every ten gallons. People make it seem like thats ridiculous. Just pony up the extra cash and put the good **** in. You get out of it what you put into it
