2010 F150 Funky Shifting Tranny
I've had this truck back to the dealer for erractic shifting, and it's no better. Today, leaving a parking lot, and just off idle, it was trying to decide whether it wanted to be in 1rst, 2nd or neutral..It's the weirdest shifting tranny I have ever had in any vehicle..
And whats with the transmission if you try and take of in 3rd rather then have it in drive..mine jumps and bucks..Am I alone here??
Thank you all

No, there are alot of threads in here about tranny shufting. Mine was never as bad as most described but then I got a programmer with custom tunes and put on the 87 perfomance tune and it is sooooo much better!
You can probably go to the dealer and have them flash the tranny computer.

I've had mine 17 months - it's not a very impressive transmission. Ford should be embarrassed by it, but unfortunately the consumer now ends up being the testing dept. I started off in 3rd yesterday having dropped it in 3rd by accident. I figured that the transmission was ready to die, until I looked at the indicator.

The ownder of my dealership has a Superchips Cortex Programmer he's selling me for $200, and although I know nothing about them, I'm hoping if I can alter the shift points, it might help it..
When I took it to the dealer about this problem before, they did Flash it, and it seemed better for a few months and now the uglyness is back!!

I am very impressed with my transmission it shifts wonderfully and is very responsive to all my imputs. I did have a clunky shifting issue when I first got it.......... dealer reflashed and all is perfect now. Some have complained and complained and complained about the transmission, but they continue to take it to the same dealership expecting different results. Take it to a different one if they cant fix it. It can be fixed for 98% of the people with issues. Also since its only like 5% of the trucks doing this I hate to say it you won the unlucky lottery, its not gona cause and long term issues its just a pain in the *** to drive. So take it to a different dealership hand them the TSB papers and tell them to fix it. If it only takes 20 min tell them to **** off it should take atleast 2hrs and you should see 20miles on the OD at a minimum if they did it right. ITS NOT A SIMPLE REFLASH they have to drive it and program it while on a computer.............. Since this TSB was done ON BOTH MY DADS TRUCK and mine I have had ZERO issues, so I know its not the truck its the monkies you guys have working on your trucks that cant fix it.
OH my xp with a tuner showed I had no better operation with the tuner before the reflash............ so dont count on a tuner to solve the issue. The tunner changes the shift pts but its not nearly as detailed as the programing the dealer gives. JUST FYI

I too have a 2010 f150 and the shifting is horrible. Taking off it never knows what it wants and if I get on it, it never knows where it wants to be. I was going to take it back to the dealer but saw all of the threads on here and decided to it up as a "never to be resolved" item and won't even waste my days at the dealer.

Well, I had my '10 to two different dealers four different times about the transmission and they never got it fixed. How many more was I supposed to try and how many times? The answer was simple for me. ONE.. to trade it in for an '11.
