Airaid Synthamax has an EO number. Have one on my truck. Exhaust, eh just get what you want.

Just take the truck back to stock when you go to smog it. If you have per say an SCTx4, just take the truck back to stock and remove the tuner from your truck when you smog it.

Doesn't mean I can't get better performance, just means it's a bit more challenging.

I found a Stillen intake that's legal (local company too) so I'm good. Thanks for the help & suggestions!
Orange county.

Sorry let me clarify, there are tons of dumb car emissions laws.

We got a new test in this year, Bar 92 or Bar 95 I forget. They just hook up the OBDII and run the test, no more sniffer or rollers.

My Mustang passed smog with a tune, but I did have to put the original throttle body and plenum back on due to lack of a CARB sticker.

First thing is to save up some money, and move the hell out of Comiefornia.

The magnuson blower is CA smog legal, if you can find it. I've even had my hood popped by CHP and haven't had a problem.

Beyond an intake and changing the cat-back, I think the Magnuson is the only other smog legal performance upgrade.

My volvo S60 turbo and 01' Lincoln LS both passed with tunes.

Sorry OP, just realized you said you have a plain 3.5, which I believe you mean 3.7?

The "rice-rocket" I alluded to was a '10 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart (my "dad" car, as I could put my kids in it) with custom exhaust, and Evo front mounted intercooler, blowoff valve and intake. It was dyno tuned to reprogram the engine computer which resulted in the same HP as a stock Evo. It passed smog just fine. Had to detune it a couple times (for free) for warranty service, but not for smog.

The part I'm getting is actually an Airaid part, this one: http://bit.ly/1IGM6YF. Next month I'll get an exhaust.
