Default 2013 xlt nav swap

so heres what im thinking, the 2013 mft screen appears to be the same size as a double din slot, so we might be able to buy the bezel from ford instead of having to use the crappy one from metra anyone with mft able to measure the screen opening size?

Mft is pretty sweet but I wouldn't pay 2500 to put it in of I didn't have it when I could pay 800 fir a decent aftermarket unit that had nav

Got pen and paper? Draw a diagonal line 8" long then use a square to make a box.

buy a TomTom... 100 bucks or so... then hardwire it

and you can mount it higher up on top of your dash (plus use it when driving)

or maybe now that im sober and read this thread correctly.... my bad! LOL

The bezel is the entire height of the dash there. Correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't been in too many trucks that didn't have MFT but, that would also involve changing all the buttons and controls and ***** over to the MFT style as well right? You won't have the same buttons and controls in the same places. The MFT bezel, just looked at mine this morning after I saw this thread last night, is not in multiple pieces or anything so the entire swap would be required.

In my opinion, not worth it once you have to pay for all those controls and then who knows what else back there to make it all work. And that's just to swap a bezel? Wait for the aftermarket to catch up and do something there. There are already some things I've seen here on this site about Advent and a few others coming out with things soon.

And not to add another log to the fire, but what aftermarket decks are 8" diagonal? Most of the ones I have seen are not that large. I certainly could be wrong and some screens could be that big, but I would say the odds are against you in finding something that would fit just right in that opening, even after you swapped it all over.
