So I'm looking at buying a used tuner that has custom 5star tunes on it, as well as "lifetime tunes" through 5star. Are these tunes transferable for a same spec truck?

I'm assuming not, but having trouble finding info on this for some reason.

You would have to have the exact same strategy code as whoever you are buying it from. More than likely it's not going to work. I bought a used one on here and they did not transfer even though neither of us had any mods, etc.

If you are getting a good deal on the tuner, I'm sure the custom tuning people will be having some sales for black Friday, cyber Monday and all that jazz. May be worth looking into

Thanks for the info, I figured that's what it would be. I'll just wait to see what deals they have on the SCT package deals black friday and go from there. Thanks again!
