Default Dealer says grease leaking from door handles is normal.

Recently we got some rain. I came out to my 2011 F150 Supercrew and noticed what looked like dirt running down the truck under each of the 4 door handles. There were also what looked like silicone or a gasket type material coming off. To me this seemed like an obvious problem. I had my local dealer look at it and I was told its just grease running down from inside the door handles from a bad rain, its not an issue and Ford won't cover it. It should surprise no one I don't agree.

I find it hard to believe the door handles are designed to drip grease down the side of the truck when it rains. I don't know wether I should go to another dealer further away, call Ford corporate, etc. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Thank you for any helpful feedback.

Mine does it, too, and Dealer also said the same thing.

Seems normal. Maybe too much grease from the factory. I think it's too keep your door handles from rusting. It should wash right off and not damage the paint

I've got two concerns with this.

1) Water is getting into the door handle/mechanism.

2) The water is washing the grease away.

I am assuming (maybe incorrectly) that over time ill be having rust issues or things not operating like they should. Is this a common practice to not worry about water getting inside the door?

I havnt had this happen with my truck, but I did notice yesterday when I took my door panels off to change my door speakers that there was an excessive amount of grease around the handle! I took a bit off.

I would just power wash it and not worry about it... If something worse happens, then they are forced to cover it.

We just had a major snow and the next day I saw the same thing.... Haven't brought it in to the dealer for this. From what everyone is saying, it seems like a normal issue.

I would hope it doesn't get worse than that when it gets really hot outside. I had some yellow grease dripping on my driver's floormat last Summer from the adjustable pedals control box. Only on the hottest days. They cleaned it and and did something, no more leaks and they still work ok.
