Default Homelink liftmaster garage door programming without the remote

Does anyone know how to program your homelink with a liftmaster garage door without the remote?

For the life of me I can't get it to work.

Inside the garage door opener is a button. Push that in, you have about 30 seconds to push the homelink button in your truck. Then you should be paired. That's the way I programmed my wife's 2017 Ford Edge. My 2013 F150 is a broom peddler special, have to use the supplied remote.

I fought this for two years...then my wife bought a new acura and at the first attempt it worked on her car. I tried using the same instructions on my truck....bingo worked. I think this the instructions I used. I think the instructions in Fords manual are flawed.

The remote has a rolling code. Press the “learn” button on the remote-controlled device (e.g., garage door opener). Press the programmed HomeLink button again; the remote-controlled device should operate. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the programmed HomeLink button for 2 seconds.

If this doesn't work search youtube for help.

Used the instructions in the owner's manual, worked fine for me. It works the same way for the outside keypad for your opener.

Does the remote by chance have the wireless app option or have the option to have it work via phone and not just an opener?

I only ask because I bought one of those for my house so I could know if the doors were open or not and then found out you can't use a visor opener on those types due to the way they communicate with the openers and wireless dongle to work with the app.

I have a 2014 Lariat. My Liftmaster openers are 1999 vintage. Have tried everything, owner's manual youtube etc. Nothing works. What does happen is my lift master remotes, the wife's Pilot and the battery operated keypad all quit working and need to be reprogrammed after I try to get my Ford to work. I read somewhere that because of the age of my openers I needed to buy some module that would interface between the Ford and the Liftmaster. No thanks. I have plenty of Liftmaster remotes and I just hang one on the visor. Old School baby.
