All good!
I think what I didn't really convey is that app is a HUD display. You could just test out what a HUD is like.
The other device is short money, so if you didn't like it, no big loss.
Take some pics if you do get it.

Naturally way easier the second time around for me.
This is a very inexpensive mod that looks great when it is done! Zero drilling. No cutting of factory wires. I simply inserted the LED wires into the back lower mirror amber light connection. Works like a champ. Taking off the mirror glass was the most nerve racking part because of reading how some people broke their glass. Carefully got it off and realized how easy it actually was.

I just bought a 2013 XLT Screw and would like to do this mod. Where did you get the LEDs? Any pics?

It's been done before but I like it so much, I'll duplicate. Painted my badges...took two takes. Tried it with plastidip, but it didn't set right and I didn't think it would be as permanent. Re-did them today with spray paint and clear coat. They came out much better.

I paid for the plastidip, but stole a buddy's paint for the second try. Total cost either way was under $20 for 2 cans of paint, mounting tape, sand paper, and Goo Gone. I used a plastic packing strap and sawed through the adhesive to get the badges off. The absolute worst part of the project was separating the chrome platinum from the black plastic. I definitely butchered some clips and I'll admit it took a solid hour for the side badges.

I repainted these today in between installing some Fox 2.0 coilovers...I'd say separating the badges were harder than the coilover install, I'm assuming I did something wrong.

I definitely need to get in the mood for the Ford logos, but that's next. I also did the side mirror reflectors with some lens tint spray and glad with the results.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it. But a cement mixing tub from Lowes/HomeDepot is about 6 bucks. Add a 2x4 cut to bed width installed right before the wheel tubs and you have yourself a nice leak proof carrier. Keeps things from sliding all over the back of the bed.

I finally did one of these mods over the weekend. I installed the key ring and metal wire to be able to fold the seats down. I'm going to get one of those behind the seat toolkits and attach it to the seat and use it for essentials (philips/flat screw drivers, tire repair tools, a few small wrenches for battery terminals/etc). It'll also be a storage place for my ratchet straps as I'm tired of hearing them rattle around in that little cubby under the seat.

Thanks! I picked up a generic model from Amazon and after only one drive with it I am pleased.

I still need to get exact location settled and get some tint like jesusv did. Speed was 1-2 mph high at 40MPH so I am still tweaking.

May use some black tape over parts of it like someone else mentioned if I want to limit the amount of information displayed.

I dont have it in my truck today, have to haul some things for work. But it's this simple black plastic tub.

Great for holding items from rolling around. Especially great when hauling pool chemicals!

I just did this and the marker light mods (2 strips behind each reflector). Most guys buy the LED strip from autozone, I made mine from a longer strand that I already had (not recommended unless you are good at soldering).

I also upgraded to folding mirrors.
