+1 I've thought a lot about that as well. Honestly I would probably get a plate frame camera in the front. But then I'd have to get another screen or re-route my current camera to a rearview mirror screen of some sort.

Too much undoing and redoing now for me lol.

I would find a front facing camera very useful. If I could integrate it into my MFT Sony setup.
I know I could have a separate display, but I'm not looking for more clutter inside.
It would be useful if it would stay on till you reached 10/15 mph. Something like that. Or even on at any speed....

When I added my Kenwood DNX 890, I paralleled my rear camera with the head unit. Now both show the rear image when in reverse. In addition, I can view the rear whenever I want. So I added a Kenwood camera to the front. The head unit supports 2 cameras so I can view either. To do what y'all want with the original mirror or 4" center display, you need to tap the rear camera video (near the ebrake pedal) and insert a video switch. Then you need to figure out how to fool the display into thinking you are in reverse so it displays the video. It's one wire on my truck. Shouldn't be too hard.

I believe I have an A/V-in port in my center console box; next to the SD chip and USB port. i'll double check but that would certainly be handy if I could just plug the forward camera into that. then choose A/V-in from the center monitor to look forward.

Im not 100% sure, but I think that wont work in anything but park. I seem to remember trying to run a DVD player off of mine when I first got the truck.

I hope it does would love a front facing camera without mounting a second screen.

True. In ga you can't have any lights on the front of your vehicle that mimic in any way emergency vehicle( (strobes, red or blue lights) unless you are a first responder.

Ironically, I just started getting interested in ways to watch movies thru the A/V inputs.
Being an Android user, I wanted to convert my Chromecast which is HDMI out to A/V in. I was able to get it working with a converter, Which of course meant it has to be 'in park with the emergency brake on'.
He is right about the lock-pick. I did it to my Kenwood aftermarket stereo in my 2005 fx4.
Not that I ever did it, but I could've had a movie playing in drive.
I have no idea how to do that to the MFT Sony system...
