4-Hi Headlight Mod!

What you need:
Electrical Tape
87 86 85 30 Relay (only need one for the 4-Hi Mod) If you have a Relay with an 87A Don't worry we just wont use that Pin.
Wire ( I recommend at least 16GA however the trucks stock wiring is 18GA)
30A Fuse and Fuse Holder (or if your like me and you have a fuse brick already added just skip this step)(what I'm talking about:
Click here (amazon) Click here (amazon)

4-5 Female Wiring Spade Connectors (all blue for 16ga wire)
4 Wire crimp connectors (3 blue 1 red, or 3 red and 1 blue atleast)
2 Blue Ring Terminal Crimp
1 Self taping screw about an inch long
Wire strippers
Wire Crimps (or an all in one stripper)
Drill

Cut a $7 roll of bug screen to fit like this. Using the screws for the black flaps to mount it. Will also use some little clamps where the top of the screen runs along the truck flaps.
I have no idea how this will hold up to 75mph for 4 hours but for $7 its worth a shot. I hate bug splats, especially in the condenser, and we have tons of bugs around here.

That's a cool spot for the 5.0 badge. Very nice touch!

You can get one of these inexpensive grommet kits from Harbor Freight and install some additional mounting points. They will punch through the mesh and reinforce each hole. I purchased my bug screen from a seller on Ebay. It is a HD fiberglass mesh with grommets, zip ties, a couple small bungees, and more fastening points. It has seen highways speeds for hours at a time and is holding up well.

A sign shop; banners, for sale, etc signs will have a grommet tool. The one I worked at did, would suspect they could do it on the spot and for $5 to $10

With these pliers, they could be done in place, also. http://www.harborfreight.com/grommet...ets-66707.html

I used this, attached directly to the grill and supports. More for rocks than insects in my case, but should help with either.

Oh, and I just used zip ties.

So I've logged @ 100 freeway miles since installing this screen with my supports being the the 2 OEM flap screws, a clamp on each corner (not pictured), and 1 piece of double sided tape holding the screen to the little square surface on the hood latch (not pictured)...and its holding up just fine. So I'm good to go!
Thanks for the other ideas though.

Johndog82... Dude... That is one impressively clean engine area. I'm going to my truck now to make sure the hoods closed so no one can see inside!
