by time you get a metal bar, get a hinge assy welded to it, shave the top of your box so it can swing over your bed box etc., you will probably be close to $100 anyways.

I would sell the one you have for whatever you can get and buy one
Thank Rhyder, you could be right. It wouldn't be the first time my cheap"****" efforts end up either not saving much or costing a lot of time lol - disappointedly, here in Canada, that slick little plastic box is between $250-350 on Amazon .ca
Imma keep looking for a bit longer, and if nothing, maybe I'll see one on Dec 25.

Just wanted to say that the engine cover paint job looks great! I am planning to do the same thing except I'm thinking about doing the "3.5L V6" in a different color. Maybe Black or something. Nice job.

Current box is snug under rail but with the tonneau Backflip, there's even less room to open the lid (lid opens full length with hinges on back (or passenger) side.
Have you checked out hinges for fence gates? You know how one side has a long arm to hold up the gate.
Maybe you could also fab up some kind of lock at the hinge point to keep it from swinging. A Master lock or a lynch pin cut into the hinge?

Looks great. Did you paint it yourself? If so what kind of paint did you use?
