All looks pretty darn good cfullersu, well done! Hope the paint holds up for you, it looks good.

Default Porkchop Box Hardware Help

Hey All, I've got a Porkchop tool box I'd made for my previous 03 F150. It's taller and wider than the resin "Swingout" version you can purchase. Trouble is I had a canopy not a Bakflip on last truck so the lid doesn't open as wide or easily now. Looking to build a swing hinge type assembly. Anyone seen that before or have ideas on a way to do it? Preferably with a release handle of course. (Oh yeah, the box was under $50 and the plywood slide is out so there's room to swing it)

straight out from under the hood, very dirty, sorry...

added some detail work

topped it all off with a couple coats of clear coat then put it back under the hood!

dipped my mirror reflectors

and added some grip tape to my running boards
That looks badass. Looking forward to updated pics and rules on the paint. I'll do mine in the spring it's too cold to paint here unfortunately. Imma paint that and possibly even my intake tube just for a little pop of color

On my running boards, I snapped a couple of those plastic skid protectors off at one end, by rotating my feet on them. They came loose and pivoted on one snap. Thus, my fabrication of the Piranha Steps. Now I almost twist my ankles on those things.

Put the grip tape on my drivers side today. Man that was kind of a pain in the butt. Seems like it's going to work out well though!

Yea it was a pain for me too, but if it keeps me from slipping all winter then I'll consider it worth it

Hey there. Any chance of some more pics of this? Having a hard time visualizing what you are describing.
Thanks!

You bet, basically I'm trying to convert my current Porkchop style box from stationary to swing out like the one pictured below ("Undercover"). My homeade one is fairly big compared to the plastic one. Goal: craft some sort of swing out assembly, with release handle at rear of box, so access is easy. Current box is snug under rail but with the tonneau Backflip, there's even less room to open the lid (lid opens full length with hinges on back (or passenger) side.

Sorry, I don't have a better pic of the wooden box, but here's slightly different angle of it.

its probably going to cost just as much to make that than to just buy one. they have some for like $130 just looking briefly. might get a deal on cyber monday.

by time you get a metal bar, get a hinge assy welded to it, shave the top of your box so it can swing over your bed box etc., you will probably be close to $100 anyways.

I would sell the one you have for whatever you can get and buy one
