There are a LOT of ideas in here! I've seen a few LED lights for the side steps, but haven't seen LEDs on the bottom of side mirrors for the "light pool" effect? Has anyone done this, and have pics?

Puddle lights
So last night I decided to put in my puddle lights.....
bought 2 LED-lights on Aliexpress for $4
And with some help from this forum/google/youtube managed to get them installed.
Basically the steps are as follows:
1. remove the door panel, 1 bolt behind the latch, 1 bolt in the griphole, 2 screws in the bottom.
2. unbolt the mirror and unplug from the harness.
3. take the mirror-glass out, carefully so not to break it ;-), now you can get to the 4 screws that keep the front-cover of the mirror assembly
4. take the round cover out of the bottom of your mirror assembly, drill a 1/2 inch hole in it, and ream it out just a little bit.
5. put in the LED-light and apply some caulking to seal the hole
6. run the wires through the mirror assembly to the side where the plug comes out and replace the mirror glass.
7. put the mirror back in, plugging in the harness and running the wires for the LED to the inside of the door.
8. put a ring terminal on the ground wire of the LED and use one of the mounting bolts of the mirror to attach it.
9. strip just a little bit of the purple wire that is in the harness for the mirror, open up the wires with a little nail and stick the power wire of the LED-led throught the hole and solder it together, wrap with electrical tape.
10. put the door panel back and....
you're done!
I only have some pics of the results....I'll try to make some pictures when I do my next mod: installing the door lock actuator in the tailgate.
Doesn't it look cool?
That's just the puddle light...amazing eh?
the light fits nicely in the round hole cover that is in the mirror when you don't have factory installed puddle lights
