Hope you allow me to give you a suggestion though: I noticed how nifty you secured your tubes to the board, but don't you think that over time the stress those screws are going to take won't it make them break or come off your board and ruin that nice finishing touch you've done to it?
Wouldn't it be better to drill through the board and replaced those screws for some sturdier round shapped head bolts and some nuts?
I'm not a fishing expert. Just wondering...
Cheers!
First off thanks for the props.

I have had them screwed in like that for probably 3 years and have made trips running 70 plus with rods in there and so far no problems with the screws. If they ever give me problems I will probably replace them with blots but until then Im just going to roll with the screws. Thanks for the advice though.

The idea behind this thread is awesome and there's been awesome ideas! I wish the majority of my modifications had been under 50$ because I have the next 2 years already budgeted out to when I can buy more stuff for my truck, rather depressing! I don't think a day will come where I say "ok, that looks good I'm done"

Plus I had to paint the chrome. Annnddd didn't break the stubs!

Love the look, just curious how exactly you prepped the emblem to paint. Also, howd you remove the back emblem?

Second question, you may or may not know. I plasti-dipped my fender badges and the seller offers overlays for those as well. Do you think they could be applied over the PD?

Thanks man. The back emblem is stuck on with 3M tape and has 2 posts. Heard a million horror stories of guys breaking one of the posts so I applied the back one with it on the truck. And as far as prep for the rear I used some Kleanz-easy, a automotive surface cleaner with a microfiber cloth. Cleaned it twice and wore some rubber gloves. As for the PD I has seen guys do it.. Never heard anything bad against it. But my personal opinion is that you should just peel it off and do it after you apply your overlays. My worry would be peeling the overlay with the PD. Plus you can clear coat you overlay THEN PD and you would still be able to peel up your PD. Just my option though
