Default DIY Diamond Plate Tonneau

SO maybe this is slightly over budget but I figured worth posting. I am not a fan of tonneau covers unless your spending $900+ to get an accordion style tonneau, as they are much too big and make a truck essentially worthless when carrying something large. however, in some cases they are needed. here is my build.. And yes its an 08' and a Lincoln but all cases should apply.

diamond plate sheets $70
diy trailer style hinge pins $4
aluminum angle free as I already had it but typically $5 each 8' length

Nice job! I've been thinking about converting my soft trifold into a hard trifold in a similar fashion. I like the retractable tonneaus too.

Please say you have a how to on how you did that. Cause I'd love to do that instead of paying for a soft cover and a how to on that would be awesome and totally custom

For being an "under $50" thread, I've already racked up about 5 grand on my mod wish list from reading this!

I do not but I will post more pics at my desktop later it appears I cannot on the mobile app. Was pretty easy. Rivets hold it together. Remember keeping it light is important. One thing to keep in mind also is that for the angle aluminum on the back half of the front panel must be reversed in order for the back have to clear it one folding
