I brought #10guage wire from the battery through and around frame underneath truck, to the back. I wasn't sure the best way but I wanted them to turn on by them selves as soon as I put tranny in reverse. A little google time taught me that if I feed power to the relay, and run a line from the trailers reverse wire (grey in my truck), then when it turns on, the relay activates and sends power through a deprecate line I ran to the lights. Sounds complicated, but actually simple. There's lots of relay wiring schematics in goog as well. I soldered all connections and heat shrunk those points, and ran most of the wires through split loom. (It may have exceeded $50 by a bit, but not much)

Well, I thought painting the outside rim on my taillights was a great idea, so I went out and bought some paint, and injected it all around with a seringe like took that comes with childrens medicine... great idea right? well... I've tried to put my taillights back on now about 4 times and everytime I do so, after a few minutes I get a black stream of paint down the back of my truck... panic!!!! take the light off, clean up the mess... wait longer... theyve been drying for 24 hours now... Also... what a messy job, I think I got quite a bit of paint on the fixture, hoping to get it off with paint remover after all is dry... I ordered some dark pre-cut tints, was going to do that anyway but I hope it hides all the imperfections. If I get pissed off enough, I'll just bite the bullet and buy some aftermarket taillights, long as my wife doesnt find out I dropped another few hundred bucks on my truck I'll be OK!

So here is the progress, came out OK... the passenger side came out cleaner than the driver side, but all in all, if you are not looking from a foot away, you cant really see the imperfections.

Not the most exciting mod but picked up these new FX4 stickers for $15 shipped. Wish they were a little bigger but overall I like them

LOL, I know all about the dripping paint! Luckily, I found out before I put them back on the truck. I just hit them with a heat gun, and not a drip was dropped. Looks good, those edges painted make a big difference.

Here are my recent mods:
Picked up a 5/8" thick rubber bed mat for $49.99 at Princess Auto. It was a bit narrow, but thats ok. I just used what I cut off from the length to fill in the sides
Grip taped the step pads (another princess auto sale item). Ran out of tape after doing 3 of them
And for when I decide whether I'm going to leave the box as is or use duplicolor bed armor (I won't pay Line X's ridiculous price of $600 cdn or buy a ****ty plastic drop in liner. I don't use the bed enough to justify it)
