Thank You, That is MY TRUCK LOL!!

I added the L.E.D's as running lights and ran the wires thru the frame to the front & tied them into the parking lights.

I also added the front driving light the same way.

As you know the parking light, light up when you open the doors, so this way both light up and help at night lighting the way into the house.

I live in Georgia and added the lights, I first taped them under to rockers & liked the look. you couldn't see them just the light.
I was all set to mount them there & was informed (by a policeman at work getting his car worked on) that in this state you cant have light "on" while running, lighting up under the car or truck to the road; BUT if I mounted to the frame where it can be seen I was fine.
1 of the guys I work with got ticketed a few years ago for same thing on his truck so I suggest you check your state laws to be safe.

"Ground effects" are illegal in every state as far as I know unless your parked. Sort of a grey area though depends on what cop you run into. Lot of motorcycles use lights and several riders I know have been ticketed for having them on while riding.

Why is that? I don't care for the look anyway, and ya, I know it's illelegal, but why?

Cops here in Iowa have always told me that red or blue are obviously a nono, but that green was OK since drivers wouldn't misinterpret it as an emergency vehicle.

We sell emergency lights so we try to sell what *wouldn't* get people in trouble (for example a construction work truck might want white, and we needed to know if white was at all legal for that use) and that's how that topic got brought up.

According to them, the Iowa State Patrol, any color that can be misinterpreted as a color designated for police/fire/ems is not allowed unless you're on private property.

Illegal if it's blue or red or if it flashes last time I checked. I asked numerous officers before I put them on my ranger. I did my ranger with blue and never got pulled iver. I'm doing my fiddy in red whenever I get time

Yeah I didn't include that - amber is perfectly OK for flashing or solid on or off road. Thats legal
