Yes, it leaves an exposed area on the wire where it cut through the coating. You can just wrap it in electrical tape, liquid E-tape, or whatever, but if you're going to keep the truck you'll want to patch it with something so it won't corrode or short out on something.

Yes, i know that is not the best use of a butt connector but I like that and trust it better than the scotch-locks.

I did them right on the truck. I didn't even tape the tire. Just feed a garbage bag through the spokes around the back of the tire to cover the rotors. Super easy. When I was done I just peeled the over spray of the tire. Came off in one piece.

Anyone have the mod where they mounted LEDs under their step rail or nerf bars? I'm looking to have the LEDs come on when you unlock the truck with the keyless remote..

Have them. Recon big rig lights puddle running and turn signals. Over two years old and working great
