Would it be just as easy to take the calibers off and spray with a caliber kit by dupi-color? Just asking is all.

Luckily in the end I was able to get it done. Thank goodness!
betcha they scratch your calipers, i have my Mustang GT calipers painted and i really have to be careful detailing my car when removing.

Sure but why do the extra work of taking the calipers off. I will also use my red paint for other projects around the shop and not just on my calipers. My experience is that special caliper paint is nothing more than a fine enamel paint with a special label.

It seems the dealership didn't scratch the paint this time. I will have to do touch up I am sure just like when I did it on my 2010. every couple of months or so I will take the tires off anyways and clean the inside of the rims. I will most likely touch up any paint that may chip off or get scratched at those times anyways.

I haven't painted my truck ones yet. I plan to. But I also have a Mustang GT, that I did it too. I used the Duplicolor brush on caliper paint. It looks great. It is self leveling(so doesn't leave brush marks) and contains ceramic beads according to the label. Brushed them with a wire brush, used some brake cleaning spray. Some compressed air, while wearing a mask and safety glasses. There was enough in the little can of paint to do 3 coats on my Mustang calipers and 2 coats on my friends calipers, and it looks like there is enough yet to do the truck if I wanted red for it, but I think I am going to go black. Kind of like the subdued look for the truck.

Check out G2 Caliper Paint if you want to go the paint route. It's the best stuff out there for the calipers. Can also be color matched for additional cost.

On a secondary point, I have also ran wiring for under bed rail lights and would love to interconnect them with the dome lights. Are those wires in this area as well? and if so which one(s)??? Thanks again!

70 years old and still trucking!

Answered this myself.......

Dome Light wires: Solid Purple is Positive Dome on Black with Yellow stripe is negative.

Tailgate actuator wires on passenger side are: Light Blue with Light Green Stripe and Violet with white stripe.

It may have taken this old gal quite a while to recreate her dead husbands doings, but with a roll of electrical tape, some sewing needles and a crapload of patience and perseverance I got successful results. I hope this helps someone else down the line. GOD Bless!

Where did you find this, and do you know where I could find the turn signal lenses for the mirrors? Sadly, my truck did not come with those.

I posted this a while ago then forgot to add pics. ...these are called puddle lights and come as a set of 2 for 30 bucks. They come with a drill bit so you can drill a hole in the bottom of your door and mount them so they shine on the ground when you open the door. I decided I wanted them to be on while I drive so I made a bracket and mounted them under my running boards. I got them off ebay. Just search ford puddle lights and the seller I got them from was mrkustomschicago I think he has a normal website too where he sells premade ones or he will make a set from a picture but they cost more because they are made to order. And yes I know my truck needs to be washed.
