Not sure if this is a "modification" per se but I have a bakflip g2 so I don't have a toolbox. I also have a 5.5' bed so a toolbox makes it pretty unusable. Wanted to share how I store quite a bit of stuff:

1. No fancy under-seat rubber husky whatever storage box. Go to Costco, grab any of the many fruit box flats they have, stick under seat. Profit.

2. Bought a $20 storage trunk at Cabelas and used a bungee cord to attach it to the hook at the end of the bed by the tailgate on one side. Great amount of storage for tiedowns, jumper cables, toolbag, etc. Keeps it all contained and covered if I need to roll with the G2 lifted up and don't have to worry about stuff blowing out.

3. Bungee a milk crate to the other tiedown hook in the bed on the other end of the tailgate. Perfect for whatever you need to throw in the bed that you don't want rolling around (bag or two of groceries, tools, etc etc).

Lots of storage, not a lot of money.

The lights had tape on the back of them, but you could also use some 3M double sided trim tape. I used an open always on fuse from the fuse box in the engine bay and ran a wire through a fuse, the mercury switch and to the strip light. The other side of the strip light went to ground. The mercury switch is mounted on the hood hinge and completes the circuit when the hood is open.

Looks like somebody might have to get an apology... Or a little compensation!

I've plastidipped my tail lights. Love the flat finish instead of the glossy look. If you don't like it just peel it off.

It took my about 6 hours to paint and then sit overnight to dry.
Nice job

I've got a milk crate that holds all my tie downs/bungees lol it just slides around my bed I'll have to strap it to hold down in the bed.
Have a couple more chilling in the garage I'll have to throw against the tailgate once I put the board in to divide the bed

I like this idea. I'm curious how you wired it? What did you use as the power source, and where did you tap in?

Taped into the 12v outlet on the rear of the console for power, used a n.c. switch...
