I'll take that as a compliment

But if you really want to go there, you did technically start it. And I disproved your notion that LED headlights are blue. Then you somehow got into aftermarket blue LEDs which is where your argument lost all logic. I don't feel like getting into a pissing match with you tonight so no use replying to this post.

I asked a state trooper if it were legal (or what WOULD be legal) his response was very clear;

"No red, No blue that pulse or strobe, period (unless on private land, stationary) (he explained further): no solid red in the front of the vehicle, solid or flashing, no blue in the rear solid or flashing.

Then said that at the end of the day the only truly "safe" color is green, and it is at the discretion of the officer that sees it to determine if it is/isn't acceptable for your use. If that cop wants to be hard about it, they can, its up to them...and a judge potentially.

Basically, don't be stupid and flash red or blue, and don't have it flashing if you're moving. All colors are legal if you're not moving and/or on private property.

This was in Polk county, where you do see this a lot, red and blue are common, white too and that's about it - you'll see occasional other colors - but its all about what your local cops want to do about it if anything.

But he was very much so serious about the red in the front, blue in the rear.

We use white led strobes in our work trucks' reverse lights and amber in the front. The DOT and IASP both told us that red in the rear was less favorable for use by anything but police/ems and amber was the ONLY OK color for the front of anything but emergency vehicles.

Having 50+ trucks on I80 and 235 at night throughout the summer... We had our fair run ins with them for various reasons - this was just one of the things we had cleared up on night 1, what we were and were not allowed to have flashing because it distracted drivers.

Just installed my tailgate assist ($29.99 4 Wheel Parts) and built an underseat storage bin (~$15 Lowes). Pictures to follow. This weekend I'm adding LED turn signals to the front of my side mirrors ($12 Auto Zone) and filling that hole up front with a grille ($35 Amazon). If I have time, I'll definitely be building a carpeted and handled bed divider. One of these days I'm going to actually save some money and get traction bars. Lol.

EDIT - A quick wrap up for those who don't want to read 200+ pages of posts like I did. IMHO the best mods, in no particular order, are:

1) DeeZee Tailgate Assist
2) Bed divider
3) Bed lights
4) Underseat storage
5) Intercooler Grille
6) Front side mirror turn signals

If I'm missing any, feel free to throw them up here.

Personally, I used a 2x6. Anyone got a picture of a 2x10?
