Cops here in Iowa have always told me that red or blue are obviously a nono, but that green was OK since drivers wouldn't misinterpret it as an emergency vehicle.
We sell emergency lights so we try to sell what *wouldn't* get people in trouble (for example a construction work truck might want white, and we needed to know if white was at all legal for that use) and that's how that topic got brought up.
According to them, the Iowa State Patrol, any color that can be misinterpreted as a color designated for police/fire/ems is not allowed unless you're on private property.

And that's why its important to check local laws.
Green here is mall security. Lol - nobody uses green, everything is amber, white, red or blue.
Construction is amber
Police/fire/ems use red and/or blue and white
FFs use blue only, no red
Since we do mostly fire/ems/public works trucks we use amber and white for almost everything, I've put blue in one truck that was a FF.
But I think lowglow (or wtf ever its called) is silly, I don't use it. If you like it, make sure its legal to use and only use colors they say are OK and you won't have problems.

2018 FX4 2.7L Super Crew
I followed another guys lead a few pages ago and got these little LED's. They pack a punch for sure. Glad I didn't put 4 on like I had originally planned. Pics don't do it justice. Way brighter in person.
