Best modifications under $50

Vents were tougher, lots of coats of paint and clear. Too much actually, spent half a day sanding off some and they still don't rotate easy but I prefer windows down anyway and the missus can suffer
Next up is interior accent lights / LED interior replacement, maybe the puddles if the festoons I bought fit.
Also gonna slam it, put some gold 100 spoke 13"s on, a stick on hood scoop, red lights underneath, stacks with big *** fart can mufflers and LED tips (How can you not love a vehicle that sounds like a R/C airplane?), as much chrome as I can find at Wal-Mart, and change the F-150 emblems to "F-150 S-Type" (maybe too much coffee for me this morning? )

I took that pic for the vehicle sighting thread a while back (that van smoked a lot!) you can see one of the vents there.

I'm happy you've got speedy paint skills though!

Unique & Different
@ComQuest Thanks! The floor mats were super easy, I just poured the nail polish in, almost to the top. ("Go-Go Girl" red from Walgreens) Let dry a day or more if you don't want the interior to smell like a salon.

I've owned a variety of cars - my first car was a 77 Y82 Trans Am I bought myself after working a few summers. Got my mod itch started that way: intake, rebuilt the QJet, headers ... until it caught fire. 85 Prelude, 91 Integra, 2004 Colorado. Now the 13 F150; my first new car and the first in 15 years worth modding. Point being almost every time I look at her I think "wouldn't that be cool?" It'll probably be a while before serious mods so the under $50 thread is a godsend.
"Mod Mail" came today, so to stay on topic here's what's going on/in today:
Replacement LED bulbs for the interior $22, 5 meters of strip LED $19 (paid more from Amazon to get Prime shipping), PWM dimmer $5, fancy red switch $7, door lock actuator for the tailgate $7. 2 100' rolls of 22ga wire (red/black) $20.
"Help" from my assistant: FREE.
Will add results when they're in.
Does anyone see an issue with stuffing some of the LED strip in clear tubing, sealing it up with silicone and using it as a "third" brake light under the tailgate? If I wire to the existing brake electrics will the additional load cause any issues? I'm guessing .5 - .75 amp draw according to the single spec sheet I used. Thanks in advance!

ComQuest Hehe ... if it's 68F° outside she'll still want the AC cranked and blowing on her. Love the woman with all my heart; just dont mess with her if she's hot or hungry! I've been known to go off on a tangent, but isn't that what a forum's for?

Can someone please point me to a thread or send me the "how to" for wiring up the tailgate actuator.
Thanks, Woody
