my issue was all the extra horsepower caused my truck to move so fast that the stickers would peel off... and when they peeled off at highway speed, I would drop from 334 kph(209mph) down to around 238 kph (148mph) causing instant whiplash. I had to wear a neck brace for 8 and a half months...... the stickers aren't worth that pain

that's a bit misleading, I did add the stickers, but only gained an extra 17HP, I don't want to exaggerate and call it 20 extra.....

I can't believe all the guys on here bashing the CAI for the 5.0L and it's HP gains.
I couldn't decide between the JLT and a K&N so I bought both... with a little duck tape and a dremel, I got both installed..... HOLY.... I got the 12 extra HP from the K&N alright, compound that on the JLT, total HP gain... atleast 80 HP.
my results, mind you with out a true dyno test....
80+ HP gain
146 ft lbs torque gain
now getting 65mpg consistantly
and I can spin all 4 tires even in 2wd!

It's a shame you don't live in Kentucky. If you play Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, you instantly grow a mullet, cold cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon appear in all your cup holders, and your most attractive cousin appears in a swimsuit in your passenger seat. You don't go any faster in Drive, but throw that sucker in Reverse and your MINIMUM speed is atleast 100 mph. Nobody has ever pegged it out before but the current record is 303mph. Most tend to lose control and explode in a display of fireworks.

Howdy.
Just FYI.
All susbstantive gains were from the custom tuning. Stage3 Motorsports even states as much:
Intake:
https://www.f150forum.com/f38/2011-f...esting-235081/
Exhaust ( long thread - jump to posts 47 & 48 ):

It should be noted that MPT gets 47hp/47tq gains @ the wheels on tuning only on a 5.0...

Thanks for the input.
While I do not buy into everything I have read about the benefits of a CAI system (especially the negative comments), I do agree that installing a CAI alone, and expecting a noticeable power gain is not realistic. This is why I installed the CAI, the exhaust and the tune, all together.
The 2007 – 2009 GT500 is a great example what a properly designed CAI and tune can do for an engine. It took both modifications to easily add another 40 hp to an already potent engine. Moreover, this was from a somewhat mild setup from Ford Racing. Other after-market packages had even more power gains.
In the end and thanks to all three of the modifications, I like the sound, I like the looks and I like the way my F150 performs. It is all good!

Either way like you said you're happy with your purchase.

The bottom line is that only the companies selling them seem to have dyno charts. Has anyone here actually done a dyno before and after?
I can sell you a Pringles can and photoshop a dyno chart that shows a 25hp increase over stock. Either you drink the cool aid or you don't. There isn't a 5.0 on earth that gained 50hp from a tune. That is total bs. That's what a blower will get you. An intake will gain you nothing without a tune and will most likely hurt mpg. With a tune it will help gain a few hps, yes it absolutely will. You have to know what to expect.
The only time a large gain is made from an intake is on a forced induction motor and after tuning, period. On a 5.0 it just sounds cool. Or annoying. Stock is best unless your blown.
