Ecoboost recommendations
Hello all,
I am looking at buying a used F150. I have had a few over the years, and currently have a 2006 Explorer which I LOVE. But we often need a truck and its time to replace the Explorer, so on to a F150. It is going to be the family vehicle, with 3-6 people at a time depending on the day. My research has led me to think the Ecoboost is the way to go for a daily driver, with some occasional light pulling or hauling. But I have come across some reports of timing belt issues, along with the air cooler problems and fuel in the oil. I am curious how many of you owners are actually having these problems? Are they a concern, or just some intermittent issues? I'm looking at a couple 2011's with 30-50K miles. Any hard info on this is greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

When people have problems they go online to vent or troll.
Happy owners aren't as inclined to go online and boast how happy the are, but there are lots of people experience zero issues with f150 ecoboost.
Even first year models.

The oil thing is real. Forced induction and direct injection along with some causes of it. I keep up on oil changes, havent decided if im gonna do catch cans soon. Alot of guys obviously haven't. The 11 is the worst for the condensation/shudder issue. Those guys will have to chime in on if the ford TSB's really took care of that or not. Im not up on the timing belt being an issue of not.

I like my EB, had one issue with the truck going into limp mode while trying to pass a semi! Had the CAC TSB at 13k miles, no issues since. I now have 59k miles on the truck.
Id surely get another one, although I dont taul or haul anything that any car couldnt!
