Interesting solution. Any sign of the system throwing codes with the sensor unplugged?

A DTC is pulled but no cluster warning message. If dealer does a scan, it will be picked up. It is not a critical operation of the vehicle if the BMS sensor faults out.

Good to know. My truck never goes to the dealer, so all would be good.

Thanks

I have been running this way for 2 months now and have even been to the dealer once. I guess they didn't check for the fault.

Why would ford build a system like this into the charge system that will not automatically reset itself once the battery signals a certain level of charge?

I have been dealing with this crap from months. At first I thought I may have not made a good connection on the rear sliding glass connector. I had just replace the tracks in the sunroof. Later I didn't get any interior vanity lights. Next the garage door opener wouldn't work. This still going on after replacing the battery letting it sit in a garage for a week. Just took it to the dealer. Kid hooked me up and reset it. I have interior lights but still no rear glass or door opener. Let me say this after driving for about 10 minutes my opener would work again. The rear glass works when its warm outstide and I have been driving for like an hour. I have been leaving my truck plugged up to a Shumaker charger/tender. This wasn't a cheap battery i installed. Its an Interstate battery.

I am going to get the bluetooth odbii dongle and download Forscan. Think about making some changes to see if I can help others with this issue.

Hate to pop your bubble but Interstate batteries are made by the same company that makes Motorcraft batteries as well as several house brand batteries for box stores like Walmart, Sams club, and multiple auto parts store brands. Johnson Controls.

The only thing that makes it expensive is how much $$ you were willing to relieve your wallet of. Bit of advice, next time you need a battery, just find one you can afford to replace. There's only 3 battery manufacturers nationwide that make them all.

Johnson Controls
Exide
Delphi

bucky - have you added any accessories to your truck?
Do you leave anything plugged in to your power outlets?

New guy here. I bought a 2013 in Feb and started having this happen in august. I shut off the my key setting and it went until a week or 2 ago.I just tried disconnecting the sensor and it still says low battery. Can the plug to the sensor be jumped out to fake the computer?
