I am going to install my cover today and have a question. My truck is a 2013 Lariat Screw shortbed. Will i have to use the shims when installing the cover's rails? Just wondering if any of you have any installation experience with this cover that you could share with me to help me do it right the first time.
Thanks!

i didn't use any shims. just a simple install in 20 minutes or so,
I didn't use shims either. Was surprised how easy the install was. I didn't crank everything down tight at first because I knew I had to remove it to get my bed sprayed. The second install I did crank everything tight and it makes a big difference in "water tightness"

30 minute install. I did my '13 FX4 Wednesday eve. The "shims" that are discussed in the directions should already be on the rails. At least mine were (F1 build date stamped on the box was mid Oct 12). I believe the directions are fairly dated.
Good timing for this thread. I picked up my truck last night, getting Line-X sprayed as I type, and my BAKFlip F1 is out for delivery so should arrive today. I will be installing this weekend.
Did you guys drill the plastic inserts in the front of the bed for the F1 to drain?

i did....popped them out and drilled a hole in center to diameter of drain tube and reinstalled
I think it said what size to use if you can find a copy of them online. I feel like it was a pretty big size. 3/4" maybe? Just a guess. I used a forstner bit and did it with the plastic pieces still installed.
