Post Bad gas mileage - Anyone else?

Not sure if it's just my 2009 Platinum, or what, but why do you think I'm getting only 11-12 mpg in the city? Should I invest in a "g-force chip", or something similar? Should I increase my psi? If anyone else has had this issue and found a way to increase their mpg, please let me know. Thanks!

A sure fire way to increase MPG is to sell the truck.

With my intake exhaust and tuner(set on 93 performance) I average like 13.7. That's after I took a 300 mile road trip. Lol.

Selling the truck is NOT an option right now, but will be when the redesigned model comes out. This is my 4th f150 in the past 11 years, and I've never gotten such bad mileage. Nothing in my driving habits have changed. But like Hookem says, I'll drive like a grandpa...and here on Los Angeles streets and freeways, that's almost certain to generate some road rage from fellow drivers!!

I have the same problem with my 2011. It's the L.A. streets. I have never gotten good mileage out of any of my 3 Ford trucks I have owned. Atleast, until I get out of the L.A. city.

big city driving is not gona be good........... look at your EPA sticker I bet your still in the range for city driving. Most people dont read that they look at the big pretty black number and forget thats the AVERAGE and the small print under it is the range is 11mpg to 15mpg city. They took X amount of people and let them drive THEN averaged it out.

Unfortunately 11 to 13 is what we get in heavy city driving I had an 05 that got 15 to 16 in the city but it also was about 1000 pounds lighter.

I wouldn't do anything until mid-June or July. Right now the stations have winter blend fuel, oxygenated, and mileage has taken a beating. I went from nearly 19.2 mpg higway to 13.4 mpg with just the fuel change, no other change to my truck. If you mileage doesn't come back with the summer fuel then look at doing something. This is all of course assuming you didn't mod your truck in some way; larger tires, removed a bed cover, leveled, etc.
