I can't see much when it's really dark with the oem backup light bulbs. any ideas what I can replace them with? Thanks!

NorCal has a great post about some Silverstars that he put on. I did the same ones on backups. Much whiter.

Ever think of installing some fog lamps under the rear of the bed facing the ground? I don't mean where anyone can see them, but where they mostly light up the ground behind you. It works...

Great ideas! I posted a few thoughts & asking for more info on your ideas, if you have it. thanks!
couple places I've seen, gonna cost $50? plz share a source if u have one. thx.
awesome! thx, missed that one in the search... now I need to find someone that sells those lights. who sells them in the midwest?
pondered that. was looking for a straight fwd remedy first... still under consideration
that ain't real truckin' ! also need decent light for those to work too. truck was bought off the lot, didn't have say on options. it's what i could afford right now.
can't see yr pic (think it's filtered) which light/brand did u get?
yea, think u plug them into the recepticle, so the door is open all the time. u pull it out for a hitch tho & unplug it, so that isn't an issue.

The hitch lights are made by White Night. I have had them on my last 2 trucks and they work great. When you put it in reverse they are on and really help with the back up camera. When in park and hooking up your trailer, you can flip a toggle switch behind the unit and they will come on to give you needed light. On my '09 Lariat, I grinded the welds off the angle that holds the 7 & 4 pin receptacles and moved it about 2" to the left to accommodate the unit.
