I'm getting ready to do this as well.

Do you REALLY need the relay?

Since these are so low-draw wouldn't it be ok to just tap into the other wires (blue/white for power and black for ground)? Wouldn't they still come on without the relay? (i'm a wiring idiot)

Just trying to make this easier on myself

Ive been looking at those lights as well. The price is right but Im still not sold on where to install them. I like the cleaner look of cutting the bumper but those lights are considerably more.

Can the bracket on these lights be removed allowing them to be flush mounted in the bumper?

I was thinking the same thing about the relay. Is it really needed for such a low draw light. I'm gonna be doin this mod soon for the reason I just got my windows tinted. And to be honest my wife drives the truck more than I do. She likes to back into parking spots as she says it's easier for her. I really think I'm gonna put mine on a switch so when ya get the ppl who like to ride your *** I can turn them on and really blind them. But that's my 2 cents

I did almost the same thing. Except I used the predrilled holes in the bumper. Remove the outer 2 bolts and place the bracket on. I also tapped into each backup light wire. Made a huge difference

When it comes to flush mounting a light, you have to ask yourself

"what do I put in the ugly hole in the bumper down the road if this light fails on me and that same light is unavailable? Like wise, what if I want to remove them, or they are stolen?"

I currently have a box of SRM Rigids I want to install in the spring when I got more time, I did not buy flush mount for the reasons of future replacement and/or removal, which are possibilities.

I too wanted a flush mount at first, but was talked out of it by friends.

To each their own though.

If I install rigid backups itll be srq flushmount diffused. I hate crap hanging off the bumper and so on! Just looks cleaner imo...
