The DBS screen or a homemade option is definitely worthwhile. My weekend trip to north Florida had the front of the truck covered in love bugs. The windshield, grille and front bumper were caked with dead bugs and likewise the DBS screen which otherwise would have been in the cooling fins of the radiator.

I hate those things! After Katrina I went down with a group of 50 firefighters to staff the area around waveland Miss. for 20 days and those things were everywhere! At times when we were responding we would have to turn on the wipers they were so thick!

For $20, well worth my time and energy.

Got one of those too. I think they are great and necessary where I live. A lot of irrigated fields which means SPLAT all over the front end of the vehicle. I will post a picture later just for the hell of it.

Smile

you could go to the hardware store and buy the stuff to make your own, but why? The DBS is awesome and it would cost more than $20.00 in materials and gas running around to make your own cobbled version! I like mine and wont go without one now.

Great idea---saw them here on the forum and picked up one for my truck. Wish I'd have thought of that one!

hardly, but 20 isnt much so at best the average person would save only 15, worth getting off the couch for? maybe not to for some, haha! Some people like doing things just for the sake of doing them. Heck, Im sure if I looked around my farm I could find all the materials to make one for free, granted not everyone can do that though.
