Default Auto up/down window

I guess Im unique.I dont like the auto up/down window switchs.I read ,and know if you operate will a little less muscle, you can operate it,the old way. BUT,I damn near killed my daughters dog yesterday. The dog steps on the passanger switch, accidently of course,I grabbed its leash just in time before it jumped out doin 70.Then With alot of anxiety I hit the up switch and almost cut its head off.Not a good grandfather to the pup.NOW Im trying to find out if there is an old style switch,or a modification I can do ,that will unly put the window up or down when the switch is manually being held.Thanks.2013 lariet

Well, at least you saved the pup. I don't know what you could do tho....maybe someone will have the answer...or you could go back and check with the dealer...don't hurt to ask 'em.

What about the window lock button? It'll disable the passenger(s) doors. I'd suggest that first.

The window will stop and reverse at the slightest resistance in auto up mode. Adjust the window so the dog can't escape and lock it out on the driver key pad. Put the dog in the seat and put the seat belt on it. The next thing you'll want is the air bag to be active on the passenger side so the dog is safe in a front end collision.

The window lock feature does not work on the front windows, only on the rear. As for adding the auto up/down feature, it is a module attached to the window motor, not the switch. The switch is part of it, but it will require a lot of parts/wiring to make that happen.

I looked up all the parts for this a while back...switches, regulators, motors, wiring, all of it is different...you could unplug the switch...or you could maybe run a switch to the switch to deactivate that switch....maybe.

I agree. Just switch it off so only driver has control.

Put a piece of duct tape over the switch before you load the dog.
