Default auto lock --- auto unlock

When scrolling through the "dash computer" you scroll through the following:

AUTO-LOCK (ON) (OFF)
AUTO-UNLOCK (ON) (OFF)

I have both of these set in the ON position. The auto-lock works after I reach 10 mph or so. I figure this is working normally.

The auto-unlock, I am not so sure about. I can't see where there is any auto-unlocking going on anywhere at any time. I am sure there is a simple explanation that I will get flamed for, but to be honest, I just don't see it yet.

Let the torture begin!!

I'm pretty sure auto unlock is used when you put the vehicle back into park. It will unlock the doors so passengers can get in or out.

is it when you put it in park, or when you turn the ignition completely off?

I can't remember; I've never paid that much attention, lol

It does not unlock when put into park after driving.

It does not unlock when the ignition is turned off.

(whew!! At least I'm not crazy!)

I turned off the auto-unlock when I bought my truck but I think it will only unlock the doors when you pull the key out.

Page 134 of your owner's manual.

Autounlock feature
The autounlock feature will unlock all the doors when:
the ignition is in the on position, all the doors are closed, and the
vehicle has been in motion at a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h);

the vehicle has then come to a stop and the ignition is turned to the
off or accessory position; and

the driver door is opened within 10 minutes of the ignition being
transitioned to the off or accessory position.

Note:
The doors will not autounlock if the vehicle has been

electronically locked before the driver door is opened

I've been trying to figure out how to get the car doors to unlock when the car is put into park. Quite often I have passengers that are trying to get out and I'm not opening my door. It's annoying when I have to hit the unlock button and they've already been yanking on the door handle. In the rear seats (S-Crew) the door lock is hard for them to reach.

All my other cars unlock all doors as soon as the vehicle is put into park. But, I guess that's not an option.......

I like this feature when I have kids in the truck. They are able to open the door themselves.....but not until I get out. The truck also has child locks.....but these are a PITA when you have adults in the back. Opening my door first is not a big deall for me.
