OK I Have it
ICM 720-01-01 FF9E XXXX XXXX turns on the Head lamp off delay in the control center.
-----------------------------^ The Bold XX code of 35 turns enables the electric locker Icon, and a 34 disables it. I have only seen one other code and that is 30. Dont know what it does.
-------------------------^ I believe a 70 in the first byte of the second pair enables the electric brake controller ie FF9E 7035 82XX. 30 disables it.
---------------------^ the 9E above enables the autolamp delay setting feature ( other codes seen are 06, 16, 5F, DE )

So my truck is FF9E 3035 82AD. With Autolamp Delay in the control center and with Rear axle locker.
The first byte in the third pair is either RSC or 26/36 gallon fuel tank or 2/4WD. I'll play wih it later. Only codes seen were 81 or 82
The second byte of the third pair is the checksum and will always change depending on all the other codes. i.e. FF9E 3035 82AD. It is calculated by summing the entire line hexadecimally and using the last byte of the SUM
07+20+01+01+FF+9E+30+35+82=2AD
^---------------^__Address portion
-------------------^------------------^___ Code portion

Geez! I've read this entire thread....and my eyes and neck hurt! I've been searching forums for a while now, trying to find this conversion. Wow, lots and lots of good info here--but I have a question. Can I use these same components on my 2013 E-150? I know the light switch will be different because it's the same as my 05 F-150 XLT (and I LOVE the automatic lights). The E series vans didn't update much and I doubt that there's a place on the dash for the sunlight sensor, so I'd have to wire it all myself.....although, there is a square panel on the dash that may be it....I've got the gps sensor stuck through that one.

If I can make this work, next it's on for my 07 GT500. Can't imagine the hottest car Ford builds in 07 doesn't have a feature that's standard on an 05 truck! I've been disappointed with that since I bought the car!

I'm heading to the junk yard and see what I can find!

Thanks!

Sorry to the bearer of bad news, but the Autolamp option was never available for either the 13 E150, or the 07 Mustang. So no OEM plug an play for those.

I am not sure if you can even adapt the system to them, as I do not believe that the the BCM in those vehicle is capable of Autolamp.

You might be able to build a system from scratch to do it, , but I am not sure if it will be worth the effort.

Sooo this is not plug and play? I have read where some people just plug in the new headlight switch and there is wiring behind the sensor plug that plugs into the new sensor. Others have had to run wires and tie them into harnesses etc. I would love to do this because it is one thing I have always wanted on my truck.

For the Headlight switch, it's plug an play.

For the light sensor, it depends on the wiring harness in your truck. If the connector is there, then it's plug an play. If it is not, then you will need to run the wires to connect it.

In most XLTs and up the wiring is there, but then again most XLTs and up have it standard.
For XL and STX, it depends on the options you have in the truck. A base model XL will probably not have it, a well equipped STX will probably have it.

Best bet is to pop the dashboard tray and look to see if the connector is there.

I didnt not have the plug for the sensor and had run 2 wires. The beginning of this thread walks people through where to run the wires. Also my switch was missing one wire, i had to run that one too. They are still working just like the option came stock on the truck.

Trying to add auto lamps to my 2014 STX Sport Scab (no sensor wiring).

My plan was to add the proper switch and forget the sensor realizing the lights would act as day time running lights.
After installing the new switch (auto lamps and fogs) the lights stay on permanently in the auto position. Never go out after turning off engine and exiting truck. The headlight chime also keeps ringing.

Looks like I am going to the shop for programming.

As a followup to my post #329, I have ordered the ScanTool 426101 OBDLink MX Bluetooth from Amazon and downloaded the FORScan software and license. After talking to my local Ford dealer they indicated the changes would cost 2-3 shop labor hours at $105 per hour. Hence my decision to try the DIY approach. I figure I can always sell the scan tool on eBay.
